Our workshop has developed expertise in crafting custom decorative hardwood floors, thus catering to the unique needs of our clients, whether it's to replicate classic patterns (such as in the case of a Versailles parquet) or to create specific designs envisioned by the architect or interior designer. The custom manufacturing allows us to work with various materials like solid oak, whether aged and waxed for a classic touch or newly brushed with bevels to harmonize with a contemporary interior. For instance, hardwood flooring offers the advantage of enduring time and can be waxed, oiled, or varnished, facilitating easy maintenance and the possibility of sanding, repairing, and transforming it without the need for replacement. Opting for carpet?
Carpet is a versatile flooring option, available in two forms: roll carpet and carpet tiles. Our workshop prioritizes natural fibers such as wool, linen, and occasionally silk, as well as wool and polyamide blends, which ensure greater durability. Carpet tiles are ideal for high-traffic areas, as they can be easily replaced, for instance, in case of wear and tear.
Regarding the installation, two main methods are utilized: glue-down installation and stretch-in installation. Firstly, the glue-down installation involves adhering the carpet directly to the entire floor surface, whereas the stretch-in installation entails stretching the carpet over a surface and securing it along the room's walls. The latter method offers the advantage of enabling carpet replacement without having to strip off the old carpet and remove adhesive, preserving the floor and making the process more sustainable. However, in both cases, the use of an underlay is recommended to add comfort, flexibility, and a plush appearance.
Stair carpets and runners to transform your staircase
Finally, stair carpets, also known as "runners," play an essential role in stair-case finishing. Usually measuring 1m (± 3ft.) in width, they typically leave a border on each side, revealing part of the stone or wood cladding while still protecting it. These mats add an aesthetic touch while enhancing staircase comfort. They are often secured in place by polished brass, nickel-plated, bronze, or blackened iron bars, adding an additional touch of charm to the staircase.
